It’s a new year, which means we have a clean slate to start anew. We’ve all made promises to ourselves that this year will be the year we change for good. This will be the year that we really go for it and turn our fitness goals into a reality. This all sounds wonderful, but where do we even begin?

We’ll let you in on a little secret…the best way to begin your fitness journey and achieve the healthy lifestyle you want is with yoga. Bikram yoga, that is! Adding yoga into your routine will lead to a healthier body and happier you. Only yoga maintains all of the systems, internal and external, that your health depends on. Bikram yoga will help to inspire, challenge, and bring tranquility into your existence. Our studio welcomes yogis from all walks in their journey, from the beginner to the advanced student. Turn your goals into a reality with Bikram yoga. Fill your life with positive energy, tranquility and love. The beginning of a journey begins with the first step. The first classes begin February first at our new location!

What exactly is Bikram Yoga?
Bikram yoga consists of a series of 26 poses and two breathing exercises which are practiced in a heated room. Each posture is of equal importance and works every part of the body. This particular branch of yoga enhances strength, increases flexibility, promotes healing, and helps to detoxify the body.

Why the heat?
The reason for the heated studio is to keep the muscles from over-heating while practicing the postures and stretching. The heat also helps to increase blood flow, deepen the stretching of the muscles, improve strength and assist in the detoxification of the body.

The Benefits of Bikram
Besides feeling like you can take on the world, there are also health benefits from practicing Bikram yoga. These include: weight loss, reduced stress, better endurance and more energy, improved immunity, a stronger heart, expanded lung capacity, relief of chronic pain, toned muscles, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries, detoxification, increased balance, strength and flexibility, increased willpower and mental strength. Flexibility and strength combined creates a balance in your life. When you are balanced, you can carry the world on your shoulders and hardly notice that it’s even there.

What to Wear

  • Helpful Tips

    Hydrate! Drink plenty of water before class

    Wear cool, comfortable clothing such as biking or running shorts and fitted tank tops or sports bras.

    Don't take class on a full stomach. Eat a light snack, if needed, before class, but nothing too heavy.

    Come at least 20 minutes early before your first class for registration.

    Don't be nervous. Most new students feel a little intimidated, but after only a few classes you'll feel right at home.
