Love yourself first

Valentine’s Day… it’s finally here! And in our culture, this is a day dedicated solely to love. We obsess over things like roses and having a magical evening with that special someone. Though for some of us, it can be a day filled with loneliness and comparing ourselves to others. We are left feeling sad, unfulfilled, and alone. But guess what?
You don’t need that special someone in your life to be happy. You don’t need chocolates and roses to define how loved you are. Because love doesn’t have to do with anyone else…it begins with you. Learning to love and accept yourself fully will be the most important decision of your life. When we finally learn to love ourselves unconditionally, we can become who we are intended to be.

Here are a few simple ways to begin your journey to self-love:

1). Begin each day with meditation. Focus on the positivity in your life. Fill your mind with love and gratitude. Breathe in love and acceptance, and exhale any negative energy or thoughts. Show gratitude for who you are and what you have right now.

2). Start writing what you love about yourself everyday. Make a little journal and start writing your list. Take time to really look in the mirror that think about what it is that you love most about yourself. Dig deep and be honest with yourself.

3). Give up comparing. Guess what? No one is perfect. And when we finally stop comparing ourselves to others, we can begin to appreciate who we are. You are beautifully unique and there is no one else like you!

4). Do something everyday that makes you happy. Life is too short. Don’t waste the precious time you’ve been given. Invest your time and energy in something you are truly passionate about. Because once we discover our purpose, we begin to feel fulfilled.

5). Believe in yourself. You need to believe in your own self-worth. Believe in your hopes and dreams. Truly, anything is achievable if we put our minds to it.

Be patient with yourself. Self-love takes time. Once you finally decide to make the decision to love yourself, you will find true happiness and fulfillment. Always remember: You are important. You are special. You are cherished. You are loved. You are worthy. You are enough.

    Hydrate! Drink plenty of water before class

    Wear cool, comfortable clothing such as biking or running shorts and fitted tank tops or sports bras.

    Don't take class on a full stomach. Eat a light snack, if needed, before class, but nothing too heavy.

    Come at least 20 minutes early before your first class for registration.

    Don't be nervous. Most new students feel a little intimidated, but after only a few classes you'll feel right at home.
